Our survey reveals the impact coronavirus (Covid-19) is having on young people from BME. The rising levels of obesity and illnesses Black and ethnic minority (BME) groups in the UK are among the poorest socio-economic groups. The structural inequalities puts BME groups at higher risk of severe illness, such as Type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure, as well as an increase in heart disease and some cancers. as well as experiencing harsher economic impact.
Our result show that:
– 77% of respondents agreed that covid-19 pandemic had made them feel isolated thus having impact on their mental impact.
– 82% of respondents say they don’t know what support service are available to them.
– 72 of respondents say luck of exercise has and outdoor activities was unhelpful for their mental health.
